The Great Silk Way IYU and GUAM democracy and Economic Development, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

On 8th of October, 2013 the Great Silk Way International Youth Union and GUAM Democracy and Economic Development, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document was signed by the Chairman of the GSW IYU Fuad Muradov and the Secretary-General of GUAM Valery Chechelashvili. The parties agreed to collaborate in the field of entrepreneurship, tourism, culture, education etc. As emphasized Fuad Muradov, the Memorandum is very important for both organizations, as is not the first Memorandum that we have signed with international organizations, he said. He also stated that the Union will invite GUAM to the international events that the GSW IYU will implement. Valery Chechelashvili noted that GUAM and GSW IYU have mutual goals and ideas, therefore the signed document will be a turning point for realization mutually beneficial projects in future. In the end he also emphasized that GUAM has 4 member states – Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova, while GSW IYU has 33 member countries. This will be a good opportunity for us to enter into international area, in particular for realizing projects involving young people, he stated. Recall that cooperation between two organizations was agreed in March 2013.
