The “Great Silk Way” International Youth Union implemented its another project: first time the “International Forum of Young Poetesses” took place in Azerbaijan.
More than 20 young poetesses had joined the event that took place in the International Mugham Center.
Government officials, Ambassadors, NGO representatives, famous culture figures, students had been invited to the event.
Participants were from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan, Hungary, Ukraine, Morocco, Georgia, Iraq, Romania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Moldova, Greece, Tunisia, Jordan, Russia.
After the Opening speeches poetesses presented their poems in the mother language. Nevertheless with an English subtitles, for reaching all the audience.
After poetesses delivered their poems, the were divided into 3 working groups, which are the following.
1. The role of poetesses in strengthening intercultural dialogue
2. Feminism as a stream in literature
3. Alternative literature: modern ways of self-expression
At the closing ceremony all the participants received their certificates and spent the next day with a cultural program in Baku.
On 1-3 October 2013 “Great Silk Way” International Youth Union received an award as the Best Cross-Border Project 2013 in the category of “Culture” implemented in the Eastern Partnership region, within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Initiative’s Congress.
