Youth Peace Camp 2016 

Member of Secretariat of Great Silk Way International Youth Union participated in the Youth Peace Camp in European Youth Center in Strasbourg on 9-18th of July. The Youth Peace Camp engages young people and youth organisations from conflict-affected regions in dialogue, based on human rights education and intercultural learning. Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marko Grdošić, Chair of the Advisory Council on Youth, Pedro Agramunt, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Nawel Rafik-Elmrini, deputy to the mayor of Strasbourg were among the visitors and speakers of the Camp. During the camp participants shared their personal experience of conflict and violence and tried to come up with strategies of living and learning together in a safe and positive atmosphere. Participants were provided with knowledge, skills and motivation to implement peace building activities as multipliers and peer leaders in their home communities. Particular attention was paid to hate speech in armed conflicts and No Hate Speech Movement campaign.
